As Anea and Renzia make their way through the unforgiving Darklands, they find themselves in the town of Wendros. Upon their arrival, Anea begins to suspect that there is history between the citizens of Wendros and Renzia. The people seem to resent him more than she is used to seeing as his carefree and aloof demeanor becomes more dismissive and quiet. As if the unknown tensions weren’t bad enough, they seem to have arrived in the middle of a volatile situation involving a kidnapping in the community. Can they help resolve the crisis before a bad situation escalates into something much worse?
Elsewhere, the swath of death and destruction carved by Omaku has sent shockwaves throughout both Burgonne and The Darklands. Can a plan be hatched in time to ensure that Anea arrives safely to the kingdom? Or is it only a matter of time before Omaku eliminates his target?

Brutality and Despair Await…
Renzia's savage battle with the great Barguran Lord, Odin, nears its bloody climax. In the aftermath, new revelations come to light exposing a tumultuous past between the Yangsho Clan and the seemingly aloof contractor, Renzia. What will Anea choose to do? And what path will she take in her quest to reach the Kingdom of Burgonne?
With several mysterious people beginning to show up in the sleepy little town, could their arrivals at the same time as Anea and Renzia be a mere coincidence? Or is there something more nefarious at work?
Elsewhere, horror is awaiting a small reconaissance team searching a nearby forest for the missing Barguran child. A nightmarish battle of life and death awaits those poor souls in the dark of the Garon-Ki Forest...

Renzia, a lowly contractor from the Darklands, accepts a job to escort a young woman named Anea Branduill to a distant land. However, this contract could prove to be above Renzia's pay grade! Anea is the last Arauran, a race of ascended beings of and ancient wisdom and unspeakable power. Anea was raised in the Darklands after the mysterious Vanishing of Araura and now she must learn about her heritage while Renzia has to get her to her destination safely. Standing in the way is a maniacal assassin seemingly targeting Anea, making Renzia's task all the more daunting. With help from reluctant allies, Renzia just may be able to make good on his contract and make enough cash to retire young!
