Anea is the last Arauran. Forced to grow up alone in The Darklands, she has become both resourceful and tremendously powerful. Her family survived The Vanishing of Araura when she was only two years old, yet what became of her family is a mystery.
Anea is empathic to those in need and has a very kind heart - but do not let the kindness fool you. She may have a warm, sweet demeanor now, but that certainly wasn’t always the case - and from time to time Anea shows that she can be quite terrifying.

Renzia is a contractor doing odd jobs around The Darklands, at least that’s what his hand-written business cards say. In actuality, he does just enough work to pay for his food, his booze, and a place to sleep when the weather’s bad - and not necessarily in that order. Most people pass Renzia off as a lazy vagabond with no ambition - and, well, they’re right - despite his lesser qualities however, he has a sort of magnetism that naturally draws people to him.
What is it about him that attracts people in need? Beats the hell outta him, he does however wish people would stop bothering him so he can enjoy his five days off every week - the guy has sleep to catch up on!

Omaku is the living embodiment of rage and hatred. From the outset of the story, he viciously annihilates everything and everyone in his path. He is in pursuit of a being called the Valura - which in the religion of his people, the Taldaren, is the ender of all things.
Omaku is a highly skilled assassin, extremely cunning and horrifyingly powerful, and it would appear that his current target is Anea. If that is true, she is in grave danger.
Oddly enough this guy was once a hero, honor-bound to defend his home and his people from evil. Now, he seems to be a different person altogether - blinded by madness and vengeance. What could have happened to turn this once honorable man into such a monster?
